About Dr. Goggy Davidowitz

Dr. Goggy Davidowitz is a Professor and University Distinguished Scholar in the Department of Entomology with a joint appointment in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Arizona. He has two research programs. As an ecological and evolutionary physiologist, he focuses on how changes in the environment, such as diet quality, temperature, and humidity, affect insect growth and reproduction. Within this framework, his research has focused on the regulation of insect body size, resource allocation tradeoffs, osmoregulation, nutritional ecology and thermoecology. His second research program studies ways to increase food security through the use of edible insects to produce protein from excess fruits and vegetables destined for the landfill.
