Research Interests:

My research focuses on understanding patterns and processes in ecology and evolution that generate and maintain biodiversity. I am interested in fundamental questions about biodiversity, such as why species are found where they are, how they evolved there, why some regions harbour more species than others, and how communities are assembled. I am also curious about why species possess the traits they do, and the evolutionary relationships between species. These questions have shaped my research interests to lie at the intersection of community ecology, biogeography, speciation, trait evolution and systematics, particularly in montane and island systems. Beyond research, I am a naturalist at heart who enjoys spending time in the field, exploring new places and documenting biodiversity.
